Four Random Words

corner
kiss
cream
creeper

These are the 4 random words that I am to write about. Hmmm… lol. Let’s see if I can pull this off.

Corner: This one is actually an easy one. I sit sort of facing the left of my desk. Behind the left part of my desk is the corner of the wall (well, there is about a foot-and-a-half from the desk to the left wall) and I’m constantly looking at that corner. It’s dull. I need to come up with something to put in that corner while keeping it simple as I’ve got photos on the wall directly above/behind the desk. Can’t clash. I’ll probably hit up Pinterest or Etsy for some ideas.

Kiss: Another easy one… nothing better than a baby kiss! The baby is growing like a weed and it’s amazing watching her grow and expand on her personality. She’s definitely a baby that likes to make her presence known, whether it’s via soft coos or loud, raspy screams. But give her a big old smooch on the cheek and she’ll melt in your arms and try to kiss you back. Pure love.

Cream: This one made me think for a bit because I see ‘cream’ and immediately think of the color. And I’ve got nothing. BUT while I was walking past my entertainment center I spotted my newest Halloween additions:

That got me to thinking about Halloween and the fall and bam! pumpkin spice creamer. ;) So now I’m on a hunt for it. And Starbucks should be putting out their Pumpkin Spice Latte soon as well!

Finally, creeper. This one I am stumped on. My immediate thought is creeper = someone who creeps around. Which makes me think of the kiddo creeping over to the baby and trying to pick her up after I’ve told him not to. ;) But then I’m not so sure that’s what creeper is. But this is my ‘game’ and I’m sticking with someone who creeps. ;)

And now I’m off to inspect the house for damage from the earthquake (I highly doubt there is any; while it was felt, it was minor). My first one ever. And I did not like it. :/

When Cocoa Disappoints

pumpkinspice

So, not the best photo, but I used the iphone and an app called camera+. Anywho… I saw this stuff last year at Home Goods and then again this year and since I’m all for things that contain pumpkin spice, I couldn’t resist again. BIG mistake. I can’t even say exactly what kind of flavor it is. It’s definitely chocolaty-cocoa, but I don’t know where the pumpkin spice is. There was something added to it, but not pumpkin spice. Not even pumpkin. Even when it was still in the container, before it met my hot milk, there was an off smell. The stuff is good until 2012 and when you pop the circle top off the can there is an inner foil seal that you have to break. So the stuff was “good” in that it was fresh. Wasn’t so good on the taste buds.

At least I now have a tin with a pop top like the old International Coffee tins (I think it was International Coffee). I remember we use to keep the Lite Brite pieces inside of one. Ah, memories. :)

Vampire Obsession

I know I’ve written about my vampire obsession before. I just can’t help myself, especially around this time of year; my only favoritest time of year.

The kiddo isn’t big on Halloween costumes, but normally (ok, for the past 5 years) he’s some sort of Star Wars character. We’ve been Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Darth Vader, Obi Wan and a storm trooper. Yeah, that’s a LOT of Star Wars.

But this year, THIS YEAR, he’s going to be a vampire! Muahahahahaha. Ok, so he really didn’t pick it out himself—it was more “Well, you could be a vampire and just wear a cape!” But still… a win is a win, right?

I’ve also started back into The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I’m picking up on book 6, Lover Enshrined. There is just something so fantastic about big, beefy vampires ruling and fighting for their own kind. Don’t get me wrong, Edward Cullen still rocks my socks, Eric Northman is beyond sexy and Damon Salvatore could turn me any day, but the way JR Ward makes The Brotherhood so protective and gentle (when they need to be), it’s just beyond sexy. It makes me glad I have the nook because I can keep the entire collection with me all the time.

V”"V –night!

Only 4 more days!

Spider Cupcake Holder

Not until school… but until September 1st—the day I put my summer stuff away and pull my fall stuff out. Of course, I’m jumping the gun a bit with Halloween stuff, I can’t help it. I went to Home Goods and bought some new stuff {not that I needed it}. Then, at the boardwalk last night, my mom bought the above adorable cupcake holder. The top comes off and you can put stuff in it. LOVE it! I’m keeping it out; no sense in putting it away only to be taken out in a couple more weeks. Right?

We’re sick again

Ugh. The kiddo stayed home again today. It started yesterday afternoon—sneezing. Then later in the night he said his throat started to hurt. :( He was up all night, and then finally fell back asleep at 7am. Obviously I can’t send him to school at 8:30 then. So, he stayed home. Going to have the husband take him to the doctor later.

I love the fall and this kills me that he’s been so sick throughout most of it. All my fall plans down the drain. I wanted to go to the local nursery to check out the big corn stalk maze, along with their pumpkin bowling.  Now we’re stuck inside. Bleh. And of course this means he’s going to get me sick, and I always end up worse than him and I also just got over being sick. It’s like the flu shot mocks me:

Flu Shot: Ha ha ha. You’re protected from the flu—but not from the cold!
Me: I know.
Flu Shot: So now you’ll suffer a cold every other week for blocking the flu!
Me: I know.

On a positive note, when the kiddo gets sick, he’s not one to be mopey. So he’ll act all normal, just be coughing and sneezing all over the place. Wait, that shouldn’t be positive should it?

Sigh. Time for more coffee.
