30 Day Blog Challenge: My Day

I’m doing a 30 Day Blog Challenge. Why? Because I’m sucky-sucky with keeping up with posting and it’s (the blogging, not the challenge thing) something I really want to keep at.

Anywho, I’m supposed to post a photo of myself and talk about my day. So here’s me (and the baby). Not from today, but unless you wanted to see me all grossed out from cleaning the house, you’ll take this. And well, that pretty much says what I did today: cleaned.

We *finally* got the Christmas stuff down and put away. The tree was a total PITA. I had to help and it really made me wonder how single moms do this crap. I could never do it. NEVER. I’d have to find myself a nice handyman to do it. ;)

So aside from cleaning, I fed the baby and changed her diaper. I also did some 1st birthday scouting. Yep. I’m on a roll. Let’s hope tomorrow is equally exciting.

(And woo hoo to 2 Broke Girls for their Golden Globe! Love that show!)

SC Johnson Smart and Easy Spring Cleaning

A few weeks ago I received the package to the left and immediately fell in love. I love cleaning supplies! I absolutely jumped at the chance of joining the BzzAgent SC Johnson Smart and Easy Spring Cleaning campaign.

Inside the box was:

  • 1 Glade Spring Candle
  • 1 Lemon Pledge
  • 1 Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer
  • 1 Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaning Gel
  • 1 Glad Plugin Refill

I have to say, the first thing I jumped at using was the toilet cleaning gel. The smell is amazing, it’s beyond easy to use (no lifting the tank lid and flushing the toilet while quickly dropping tablets in that you can’t touch yet they never fall exactly flat) and it just works.

The Lemon Pledge speaks for itself. There’s nothing better than the smell that is left after dusting with Lemon Pledge. It leaves your house smelling clean. I read a trick somewhere by someone who said that if you need to quickly tidy before guests come over last minute, spray some Lemon Pledge and it will give the illusion that you just cleaned. Pretty neat.

I’ve used the Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer previously and it is hard to come by around me. I think that as soon as it comes it, it sells out! Yes, it’s that great. I’m a fan of Scrubbing Bubbles to begin with, but the sprayer on the mega shower foamer is awesome and covers more of an area in one spray than the original does.

Invisible grime barrier is activated each time bathroom surfaces get wet, working for up to four days

I have to say, this is totally the case. Our bathroom sink is used by the 3 of us. It gets dirty really fast. But after I spray and clean with the Mega Shower Foamer, it stays cleaner, longer. The grime/scale stays away much longer and the clean smell lasts longer too.

As for the candle and the plugin, I could not be happier. As a dog and cat owner, I can tell you that there are animal smells in my house (and yes, they drive me crazy). The Glade candle and the Glade plugin both give off a nice fresh scent that doesn’t over power the “natural” smells you have in your house, yet they still mask them. It’s great to be able to walk into the house without going, “Eew, dog.” right off the bat.

All of these products came in so handy for Easter. After we installed the new wood laminate flooring, the house just felt dirty because of the dust/debris from cutting and sawing, etc. The Scrubbing Bubbles took care of the bathrooms with ease and the candle, plugin,  and Lemon Pledge took care of the rest of the house. By the time company arrived for Easter dinner, the house was spotless!

Happy Hump Day!

Woo Hoo. Here we are on Wednesday. Almost through with the week, thank goodness. Saturday we have family coming over so I’ve been desperate to get the final Halloween decorations up and the house cleaned. It’s been soooo chilly (which I love) but I’ve been freaking sick again. Not sure what it is this go around. Started with a scratchy throat, now I’m just full of mucus. Fun stuff, I tell ya! And on top of that, my TMJ is acting up. Again. Which though, makes me think it’s all sinus related. Which is better than a cold I guess. ;) Just thank goodness I got the flu shot when I did! Speaking of which, the kiddo got his on Saturday, so he’s covered. Now to nag the husband into getting his. ;)

Happy Day—enjoy yours!

Happy 4th of July [early]

Considering I have to overhaul the house before people can step inside on Saturday, I figured I’d take a moment to say, “Happy 4th of July!”

I made cute, cute, cute invitations using the Fire Up The Grill kit from Julie Billingsley. Unfortunately I think I’m the only one who appreciates the fact that I create my invitations at home and print them up as actual photos at Costco. Ah well.

Invitation July 4th

So we’re going to have about 30 people here on Saturday. The house needs to be cleaned and I need to create a list of what is needed still. And here’s hoping that the weather is nice. Right now we’re looking at sunny and 80º–but we all know how that goes, especially lately.

So on that note, Happy 4th of July and may your weather be perfect!

Road to Nowhere

You know, I have to say thank you to Supernatural and Criminal Minds.  Without them, I would never had thought I’d like the music of Ozzy Osbourne or The Stones.  Seriously.  The music in these shows just grab at your heartstrings and make you love the characters even more.  Ok, so on to my regular ramblings…

Did you ever have so much to do that you just didn’t know where to start?  Yep – that’s me today.  Not that I have to do everything today, but I have Halloween cards sitting next to me that have half addresses on them (because I need to get the addresses from my mom), bills that need to be paid before the end of the month, prescriptions that need to be mailed out (because the $^#&$^% prescription plan wants all maintenance drugs ordered through mail order), rooms to clean, goody bags to make, groceries to go buy, work to do (so, ok, that’s really scheduled so I know when to do that, but still…), friends to keep up with, Christmas gifts I need to start making and so on.  It’s enough to tire out Wonder Woman never mind little old me!  And those things aren’t even the fun things I want to do.  :(  I want to digiscrap.  I haven’t in such a long time.  The last page I made was this one:

Which was done last year, of 2006 photos. LOL, and then this one was the one before that:

So as you can see, I’m really on the ball here. ;)  I want to really clean out the computer and organize files, etc. (I know, could I be any geekier?).  I want to watch last weeks Grey’s Anatomy episode.  I want, I want, I want.  What I really want is more hours in the day. ;)

Sigh.  Well, I guess I better stop writing about what needs to be done and just start somewhere.
