NCIS: Why Didn’t I Watch This Sooner?

So there are quite a few things I’ve been catching up on, thanks to Netflix. One being, Murder She Wrote. They’ve got all the seasons on watch instantly. This, plus the Xbox Netflix program equals JB Fletcher heaven. I can *just* about remember watching it when I was younger.

The other show I’ve been watching, via discs due to unavailability of an instant watch option, is NCIS. OMG. I just finished up season 2. I won’t spoil it. But I will tell you that I would love to be best friends with Abby and have a co-worker like Tony. LOL And—Mark Harmon is looking as good as ever. (Anyone else appreciate Summer School? LOL)

I’ve been watching NCIS: Los Angeles, and don’t get me wrong, LL Cool J totally rocks my socks, but there is just something about Tony in NCIS that makes the show so much more. Definitely catch it if you can.

Thursday is the day!

I cannot wait! Last night I read New Moon again. Not my favorite book. I just can’t get into the whole Jacob section. But the movie looks awesome! It really looks like it’s a huge step up from Twilight, visually at least. I’m hoping the acting/direction is a lot better, and the script is more to the book. Those were my biggest gripes with Twilight.

My sister and I are going to a midnight showing. Of course this means I need to travel an hour + to get to her theatre. The movie is at 12:02 and is 2 hours 10 minutes long. Which means I’ll get out of there about 2:15ish. After dropping her at home, I’ll be home around 3:30ish. Note: I am not off the next morning, and the kiddo IS going to school. I will be completely useless Friday morning.

I’m hoping to get to see it again in the theatre. Maybe that Saturday as well.

And after all the New Moon stuff is over {and I will be buying the Blu-ray as soon as possible} it’s time to get cracking with Thanksgiving.

This year we’re having more people, which is great. Finally a big Thanksgiving! There will be nine of us, plus the baby {I’m an aunt!}. I am truly excited. But, there is a lot to do. I’ve got my list together of everything that needs to be done; cleaning, shopping, and made. Now to just get it all done.

And now on with Monday…

I am dying here

I’ve been recording the season 1 of True Blood that plays Sunday at 1AM. I know I’ve got the Blu-ray season set coming to me next week, but still, can never get enough of nekkid vampire butt (should so be a delicacy!). So last night I sat down to watch the most recent episode, which was the season finale. After it finished, HBO played a little teaser for the new season. I had to pick myself up off the floor. That was the first one I’d seen. So in my infatuation with the series (and the books — more on that to come), I dug up the trailer and a promo videos.

This is the one I saw (and check out Alexander/Eric – swoon):

Awe.some. Just plain awesome. It’s no secret I love Eric. I just finished the 9th book, Dead and Gone, and loved it. I felt it was too short and that she left a bit too much hanging, but all and all, still loved it. I can’t wait for the next one (which I’ll have to — Dead and Gone was released May 9th). Lots of Eric goodies in it which left me wanting more, more, more.

But back to the trailer/sneak peek… I wasn’t sure how I was going to get over the freaking whack job that Bill turned. Jessica’s voice and whiney attitude just grates on my nerves. But at looking at the sneak peek, it looks as if Sookie sort of takes over and helps – and wow. Total improvement. At least in that scene. Now if they’d kill off Tara. She is NOTHING like she is in the books and that bothers me tremendously. Not that Jessica is in the books at all, but Tara, on tv, is so very different.

Where looking at one month and one day and 45 minutes to it shows. Now if they’d just give us the full hour we deserve. I love HBO but this 52/53 minute crap is killing me.

Where is Spring?

Here we are at the end of the month.  The end of April.  It was 92 degrees today.  After being 96 yesterday.  Where did Spring go?  My poor tulips have bloomed and got burned to a crisp the past few days.  Major bummer.  No wilting, just the evil, evil sun burning the edges of my beautiful parrot tulips.

On the positive side of the fast-moving seasons, May is just around the corner.  May is a big month: May 5th is the release of the newest Sookie Stackhouse novel, Dead and Gone, and then on May 19th comes True Blood in blu-ray.  I only ordered the blu-ray version because we missed out on the series in HD and I really want to see it in HD. (Uhm, cute nekkid vampire butt in HD?  Definitely!)  And let’s not forget the release of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  Can’t wait to see it – one I am very sad to have missed in the theatre.

June is a big month too with True Blood starting up again.  I was reading something somewhere that said that Allen Ball knows Eric is a big part of the books and will hold true to the story (while adding in other characters) – I really hope it’s true.  Eric is a HUGE part of the books.  Really, he’s why I keep reading.

July is TwiCon.  Can’t wait.  I purchased the plane tickets for my sister and I and have us getting to Dallas with plenty of time before it officially starts.  I think we’re mainly looking forward to meeting the stars of the movie.  Sad that Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won’t be there — but hey, Jackson Rathbone, Peter Facinelli and Kellan Lutz MORE than make up for it. :)  And… to add more fuel to my love of Twilight, Michael Sheen, who played Lucian in Underworld: Evolution and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, is playing Aro in New Moon.  WOO HOO.  Although, funny he was a werewolf fighting against vampires and will now be a super powerful vampire.

And then that’s it.  That’s my big summer plans.  The theme seems to be centered around vampires, although, it’s not something I can help or intended. ;)

Oh to be a fangbanger

It’s no secret, at least amongst friends and family, that I am addicted to vampires. I’ve always had a thing for them — Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Lost Boys, Van Helsing.  Then they began to mix werewolves in with them (I’m a werewolf fiend as well; American Werewolf in London anyone?) — Underworld, Underworld Evolution, Underworld Rise of the Lycans.  Heaven.  Pure heaven.

Then came Twilight.  Swoon.  I thought I found the god of all vampires: Edward Cullen.  He’s absolutely perfect — and then they get Robert Pattinson to play him in the films.  COMPLETE heaven.

But Edward, alas, is just a boy.  That’s right, I said it.  It makes me love him no less, but he is just a boy.  Enter True Blood and Eric Northman, the 6’5, viking vampire MAN.

Alexander Skarsgård

Normally, I like my men with dark hair and never long.  But with Eric the Viking – I just can’t help myself.  Maybe it’s the way the book portrays him.  Whatever it is, I’d gladly give up my human life to be with him.

In May True Blood comes out on DVD and I already pre-ordered it on Blue-Ray which is a big step since we don’t have many blu-ray DVDs (Pinocchio 70th anniversary, Outbreak, Independence Day, Swordfish and soon Twilight).  I cannot WAIT to watch it in HD/BR.   Yay!  Just wish it would get here faster — HBO has been playing the episodes on HBO2 EAST but not WEST and for some reason, we only get WEST.  (Huh?)
