Vampire Obsession

I know I’ve written about my vampire obsession before. I just can’t help myself, especially around this time of year; my only favoritest time of year.

The kiddo isn’t big on Halloween costumes, but normally (ok, for the past 5 years) he’s some sort of Star Wars character. We’ve been Boba Fett, Jango Fett, Darth Vader, Obi Wan and a storm trooper. Yeah, that’s a LOT of Star Wars.

But this year, THIS YEAR, he’s going to be a vampire! Muahahahahaha. Ok, so he really didn’t pick it out himself—it was more “Well, you could be a vampire and just wear a cape!” But still… a win is a win, right?

I’ve also started back into The Black Dagger Brotherhood. I’m picking up on book 6, Lover Enshrined. There is just something so fantastic about big, beefy vampires ruling and fighting for their own kind. Don’t get me wrong, Edward Cullen still rocks my socks, Eric Northman is beyond sexy and Damon Salvatore could turn me any day, but the way JR Ward makes The Brotherhood so protective and gentle (when they need to be), it’s just beyond sexy. It makes me glad I have the nook because I can keep the entire collection with me all the time.

I got the chance to test out some fantastic scrapbooking tool through BzzAgent. I was so stoked when the package arrive. (Yep! Everything in the photo was in there!) I’ve played with scissors and glue dots before, but I’ll be honest, never have I ever used a corner rounds punch before. Well look out. Everything and anything I could get my hands on ended up with rounded corners. It is the easiest and most fantastic thing ever!

I have a lot of photos around the house—I love those photo holders/grabbers and change them through the seasons.

Not even my photos were safe! I quickly grabbed one and the end result was fantastic and oh so chic!

You can see in the photo where I scanned it in (the white triangles at each corner). It reminds me of the photos of the 70′s (from looking at my baby book!). I’m definitely going to be looking for various punches now. This was waaaay too easy. :)

Big time book letdown

Just finished reading The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Shadow Souls and man, I feel cheated. I thought we were done with Shinichi. And not to ruin for others, but alas, the next book will undoubtedly contain more of that garbage. Sigh. I think I’m officially done with The Vampire Diaries (the books!) as my escapism. Thankfully, the TV show is doing a freaking sweet job with their version. It’s not going too far away from the first few books. Plus, Ian Somerhalder isn’t too shabby either. ;)

I have to admit I tend to get too involved with some books. Twilight, for one. The Black Dagger Brotherhood falls into the too involved category too.

The problem is that I like to read at night (btw, the nook is awesome for reading all snuggled up in the bed, no need to move more than one finger to page turn!) and I get so involved in the story that I end up reading until 2/3 am. Yes, from 11pm to 2/3am I’m laying in bed reading. In peace. When I’m not suppose to be doing anything else (well, aside from sleeping). So I only get about 3-4 hours sleep before I have to get up to get the kiddo ready for school. And the story is still fresh in my mind. So I’m thinking about it all day. And yes, I realize I’m exhibiting some OCD behavior here, lol. But there is just something about a good book that can calm you from a stressful day.

So since I finished the latest Vampire Diaries book, I’m looking for a new one. I’m not sure what route I’ll choose, although Under the Dome has been calling.

Happy Reading!

Ten days. Just 10. More. Days. Woo hoo! I’ll miss him like crazy, but… I will get my peace and quiet back. And, I’m taking on online class for using the pen tool in Photoshop. I may just learn how to use that confounded option. And maybe even finally use the tablet I have! ;)

Love my fellow passive aggressive peeps.

So Saturday we drove in to help mom move. I tried a couple of times to check email. I have the phone set up to check for wifi first. And twice I just had to giggle.
